Long ago in a previous lifetime I worked on the Mariner's Stadium in Seattle when they were building it. We had about 15 people in our group, with radios and it was a big site. Every once in a while somebody would want to talk face to face and would call on the radio asking for a location. When they called me I periodically used the "directly above the center of the earth line. When they as me to be more specific I would say "About 4,000 mile above the center of the earth. "
