Inspired by the wickapedia discussion, I had to comment:
A song I enjoy "Wagon Wheel" describes a man hitchhiking to see his girlfriend. He hitches a ride with a trucker who's "heading west from the Cumberland gap to Johnson city TN."
Nice trick, I also like the CSNY song "Southern Cross" but can't figure out where he's going, many of the references are legitimate sailing references ("80 feet of the water line...") are sound and make sense:
(Sqrt(80))X1.35=12 kts , and "off the wind on this heading lie the marcasa's" ....is that where he's going?
