For all those out there who can only answer a question with “It all depends ……….”, here’s my submission. It all depends if you want a easy to use navigation tutor/almanac, or a book you can open at any page; start reading; and be immediately entertained. If the latter, it has to be “Wrinkles in Practical Navigation” by Squire Lecky, (as a second-hand book, not an online text) around a late nineteenth century edition, even if it is a bit self-opinionated in places.
