    Thank you very much for all the replies and materials - gone reading.

    Not that I own a plane or a vessel capable to navigate those areas - I'm not even thinking of doing that on skis or a kite.

    I was reading about Amundsen's South Pole expedition, they mentioned that his navigators took some special (learning) course about near-pole CN, that's why I'm interested.
