This begs a question that has plagued me for a long time.
Buying a Used Sextant.
If any of us have read and know the book and website for the Nautical Sextant (www.sextantbook.com)
And feel we can follow its suggestions and procedures, then shouldn’t we welcome the possibility of a not so perfect instrument and making one of it?

Wouldn't mind getting my hands on a US Navy Mk III. However, have my sights on a excellent condition late 70's C. Plath Navistar.
