Apologies for the delayed reply, I was out in the woods camping for a time without connectivity and am just catching up after getting back.
I appreciate the through post and detailed information, thank you! Good advice, I ended up ordering the Astra before heading out and came home to a gorgeous new sextant. It feels like I made the right decision, balancing cost and value for my first sextant. I like the lightness of the Astra, I have a feeling My arms will especially appreciate it during long sessions.
The sextant handbook looks like a fantastic resource- ordered it immediately!
