Bill. Re my last. I took another look at this change of azimuth with northerly assumed position error. It’s very latitude and seasonally dependent. For the UK today it’s negligible, further south in June it starts to come into effect. By drawing and by testing with 'Navigator' I can see it depends upon true lat – dec as well as assumed lat – true lat and time distance away from noon. DaveP
