This may be interesting too. It's the original - non graphical way to solve a wind triangle ( I substituted marine terms):
CORRECTION ANGLE = ASIN(((DRIFT X SIN(SET-TC))/STW)
SOG=SQRT((STW2 + DRIFT2) - (((2 X STW) X DRIFT) X COS(TC - SET + CORRECTION ANGLE)))
I have used this in a navigation spreadsheet, and it works very well hopefully I transcribed all of the (( correctly fot this email
