What a nice device to see the association of latitude, projection of reference marks, and hour angles.
You could also show that the same priniciples - latitude, Equation of Time, etc - are at work for a sundial on Mars though designs would have to adjust for the plane's r 'daily' 360° rotation and time of revolution about the sun.
