Here's Eta Carinae, still listed then as Eta Argus, counted as a navigational star, one of only 80, in the Nautisches Jahrbuch (German nautical almanac) for 1926. It's really quite strange that these almanac authorities kept it around for so long. The world's astronomers had largely forgotten about Eta Carinae in the 1920s, but it's counted among important navigational stars.
