    Geoff, looking at your Ladd Observatory numbers, I see that the differences between altitudes with and without refraction is around 37", which I guess is the refraction. At those altitudes I would expect a refraction of around 46" at the given temperature and pressure (based on The Star Almanac for land surveyors). Also, Regulus seems to have less refraction than the moon, in spite of Regulus' lower altitude.
