Took it apart again. Getting used to that by now... Anyway, more wiggling and fatter grease than before made the main mirror move very easily so the spring and pallet kept it well under control. That now works fine. A droplet of 60/40 Pb-lead was soldered to the reservoir after nipping it with a plier. I have saved a kilogram or two of the old useable lead, the new lead-free is hopeless for soldering. As a radio "ham" I am more often digging around in old radios than new ones so leaded solder is a must.
Now what I really want to do is to open the gearbox and put grease in that one too for an even smoother action. But that will have to wait until I have made a number of sights of the sun, jupiter in the evening and some stars.
Thanks all of you for your shouts of encouragement and information. It is almost as if I want to have a go at another one. The missus is of another opinion though :)
Cheers
Micke
