I once found myself in a similar situation and used the pictured kit to accurately position the ship with morning and evening Sun LOPs using a homemade kamal , tape measure, Pub 249 table 4 (1 page), pocket calculator, digital watch and law of cosine formula.

PS It is possible to go even smaller using a Bris sextant and wallet tables. But why not bring along a Davis Mark 3 plastic sextant and a smart phone app on your next voyage just to show off ;-)
