While researching Percy Lyall Hooker Davis FRAS, his father JE Davis RN and the latter's colleague John Burdwood RN I came across the following statement:
"His High latitude tables between 61° and 78° were prepared for and used by the Antarctic expedition of 1901."
The question that springs to mind is did Worsley use these tables?
PLH Davis' obituary in the monthly notices of the Royal Astronomical Society http://adsabs.harvard.edu/full/1939MNRAS..99..309 states that he had a keen interest in lunars.
