    Jerry,
I first learnt in the 1980s on Mary Blewitt, Celestial Navigation (simple
starter), Commonsense Celestial Navigation by our own Hewitt Schlereth,(also
his later, simpler Cel Nav in a nutshell). Self -contained Celestial
Navigation with HO 208 JS Letcher. Which I still find inspirational. Later ,
as electronics started to appear, Celestial Navigation in the GPS age ,John
Karl, Celestial Navigation ,John Cunliffe (easy starter). Emergency
Navigation by David Burch is fun.
I later discovered old editions of Bowditch and other classics available on
line. I have the book version 1863. Great for the old ways including lunars.
Many of these out-of-print books can be found for sale on line.
All you need also find on Navlist files.
Health warning, once you are hooked, there is no cure. Some of us poor souls,
hopeless cases, end up doing lunars, just for fun.
    Happy sailing and Cel Naving.
    Francis

    Jerry,
Look at the book " Celestial Navigation in the GPS Age " by John Karl. Good book - I recommend it.
For an on-line book ( free download ) try " Celestial Navigation in a Tea Cup
". Not an online course but a good book.
    Welcome Aboard!
