Fleet Ballistic Missile stellar-assisted inertial guidance was introduced with Trident I (C4) missiles, and continued with Trident II (D5) missiles. Stellar assist was not used with Polaris (A1, A2, and A3) missiles, nor with the Poseidon (C3) missiles which replaced Polaris.
