You’ll have seen my last post. I wish I could have been wrong in the clever way you suggest. I’m afraid it was simpler than that. While I thought I was constructing ISO-Azimuths with a little 60 template, I was only drawing them from the previous meridian and not from the sub-stellar point. In fact, I ended up constructing something like a rhumb line, and it’s rhumb lines wot does spirals. Dave Walden’s lines of equal bearing diagram from Weems shone the light in the correct place. DaveP
