Hi.
I find the oposite, at school I was taught the bar-notation method, then when I went to Nautical College and was taught the 10+ system I found it so much easier and used it all the time. To the point that I used it when doing some maths homework, and was marked down as " 10+ is only for Navigation and bar-notation is for maths!!!"
