Someone might like to check this out before Steve tries it.
At 10.00 UT (that great navigational time) my DR position was 26°.46’N 075°.44’W. Being super organised and ready to go, at 10.10 UT, I caught Kochab (mag +2.2) at Hs 11°.02’. At 10.14UT I shot Aldebaran (mag +1.1) at Hs 60°.04’, and at 10.18UT I could still see Capella (Mag +0.2) at Hs 53°.17.
My first mate Etheldred who’s usually late for most things didn't stagger on deck until 10.15UT and immediately shot Capella at Hs 52°.57 at 10.16UT, Deneb (Mag +1.3) at Hs 19°.16’ at 10.18, and just managed see Capella again at Hs 53°.36’ at 10.20. I really don’t know how he manages to get away with it. There goes my jobs list for another morning, but this is much more fun. My usual caveats apply.
