Thank you for the excellent write up. To address a couple of things.
1/ observation is in Clare, Michigan
2/ I accidentally flipped the semi diameters of the sun and moon, an innocent transcription matter. But as you correctly point out, it matters not in the end
3/ I misspoke about adding the index error (something I noted) and subtraction is the correct action.
4/ I will review your historical comments in more detail
5/ Frank, THAT. Is how you properly criticize an observation constructively. I've learnt something from this and so would the readers
