It is very easy to “fall hopelessly in love” with the data staring you in
the face. Especially if you or your personal team recorded/acquired it. I
learned very early (the hard way) everything must be really checked and
confirmed in a couple of different ways.
I claim it is just for fun or mental exercise, but when I do a sight
reduction I use two or three methods on same data: HO 249, hand calculator,
Weems 1927. Old habits die hard.
