A few more possibles: A fat finger entry into the smart phone app., leaving out a dip short correction, a reflection off the Sun shade showing a second image on the horizon mirror, some type of false horizon.
24' is an odd error number. If it were 16' or 32' then semi diameter or limb selection would be the suspect.
