9. How much to you know about Polynesian celestial navigation?
Most of what little I know was gleaned from an exhibit at the Hawaii Maritime Museum. The one particular technique that has stuck with me is the concept of associating 'zenith stars' with certain islands. A star whose declination matches the latitude of an island will appear appear directly overhead when it reaches its zenith each night.
