    Tom,

    My understanding is that the ball recording types were very rare and significantly inaccurate. The only type to have a paper recording that springs to mind is the Fairchild A-10 bubble sextant. This is widely used and common sextant.

    They are regularly on Ebay, but mostly not in working order and in need of restoration.
