Jean Meeus's Astronomical Algorithms does not cover occultations because he covers them in another book, Astronomical Tables of the Sun, Moon and Planets (Willmann-Bell, 3rd. ed, 2015). He gives the math as well as a Basic program for computing local circumstances, and he also describes how to calculate the Besselian elements for an event. Finally, he has tables giving these elements for the planets Mercury thru Neptune and for the stars Antares, Regulus, Spica, and Aldebaran for all observable events 2010-2040.
