Paper charts should always be carried. Even if you think you remember the harbor aids to navigation. What if you are forced to enter a strange harbor without your chartplotter? Now do it without charts.
Seriously, how hard is it to store a few charts on board?
This is a no brainer

There has been a discussion recently on the Cruiser's Forum about whether or not paper charts are still necessary as a backup. I think the possibility of GPS jamming was even discussed. I'm going to post this link over there for their consideration. Thanks, Pete!
