That’s amazing, very clever. I don’t think I’ve ever shot Eltanin; until last night it was a stranger to me. It might be visible here tonight moving from west to north if the sky’s clear enough, I don’t think I can get my head back far enough to observe manually unless I lie on my back. It’s ideally placed for the Astrovan except that’s full of rubbish. With luck it might just be visible with a Smiths Mk 2 peri-sextant on the bedroom window ledge, except I'm going to have to set up azimuth freehand. We’ll see. DaveP
