The low price ones (under, say, $100) are cheap imitations for nautical decor only. Not functional. And yes they pollute the pages of sextants on eBay.
I have not yet purchased a sextant on line.but sometimes I have a look on ebay. There seem to be two price ranges - $30 and $300 - $600. The former pollute the listings. Next time I get the urge to buy a sextant I think that I should apply a filter of say > $200 to my search.
