With the subdued artful lighting it’s hard to tell for sure but the sextant looks like a $10 to $20 reproduction.
The young lady appears to be more authentic. Vive la France!
With respect to the truth of history, the paintings of Degas figure heavily with young female ballet dancers but there is often a formally dressed older man in the background, arguably waiting for one of the young women to finish work.
