Hello!
There was a discusion between Frank and Alex some days ago about posibility to calibrate sextant at home (withot special calibration instruments). I would like to present some real results of calibration by home observations.
When I purchaced sextant SNO-M (made in 1972) it had no certificate. Errors could easily reach 1,5’. After calibration I have the same instrument with typical error of 0,3’.
Attached pdf file will breafly reveal how 3000 measurements during a period of 2,5 years helped to reach such a result.
