    Hello, Bruce!

The book’s name  in english would be something like that: B. Krasavcev.  “Instruments and Methods of Nautical Astronomy”, 1972.

Only one paragraph of the book is devoted to traditional sextant. I will translate all the content of the book to understand what the book is about . The content of the book is following:

Chapter 1: Review of manuals on marine astronomy. Perspectivs of their developement.

Chater 2: Sextant for the navigation and other angle measurement instruments. Actual situation and perspectives of developement.

Chapter 3: Features for finding ships position by dayliht observations

Chapter 4: Techniques to accelerate observations

Chapter 5: Analysis of errors of astronomical observations

Chapter 6: Applicancies and machines to execute tasks of nautical astronomy

I doubt it will be possible to find  a full translation of the book (but I am not 100% sure). But if you are interested only in the paragraph about nautical sextant I can translate it for you. In this case please let me know. Of coures, if you are interested in the full book (not in one paragraph) I won't be able to help.
