Sextant handle electric system, out of service

Hi everyone, my name its manuel i.m from Spain. I love to sail using traditional navigational method, i dont like gps sistems and electronics tools, exept radar for own safety, the subect is i have got a old sextant year 1977, and it has a problem with the handle, its not posible take battery out, after a long time ago ( i can not know " how long time") the batteries broke and damaged all electric system, so best solution it is replace the handle. The sextant it is a plath navigator, anybody can help me? Do you know if its posible replacement a handle....? And anybody knows any factory, adress....phone..?
