Shadows on Google Maps Satellite Photographs
    From: David Pike
    Date: 2018 Jun 14, 07:03 -0700

Are the shadows on the satellite photographs on Google Maps genuine?  In other words, can you use them to calculate a rough time of day and time of year from them? The shadows around ‘RAF Cranwell’ look particularly useful for such an exercise. Except! Shadows to the east of St Peter’s Catholic Church indicate the Sun in the south; shadows to the west of the Church indicate the Sun in the west.  I suppose it could have been a long sermon.  DaveP.
