All correct David. As plotted the lines varied from 10 to 30 Nm up/down track from the FMS positions, with coriolis applied still 9-23Nm off. However with the same relative distances between lines no accuracy is gained if one was trying to get groundspeeds along track as I originally stated.
I greatly appreciated your reference to Hartog's 'Mechanics' in your coriolis post. I found it on line and it is the first reading to give me a complete understanding of the concept (I confess that I have never tried to read Coriolis's original works:) To date I have always always applied the corrections mechanically as needed for Cel Nav fixes, or in a different world, when I send a bullet to target for more than 1 second of flight.
