    Dear Andrew,

    Yes, that is exactly it. I will have to check if the numbering if the scales are the same (on your diagram and on the Kavrayskiy's), the only obvious difference is that the Kavrayskiy's diagram has its' equator marked in degrees too. The 0° is on the right-hand end of equatorial line, the 90° is at the center, the left-hand end is 180°. Then the scale continues in the opposite direction: the center is also 270° and the 360° coinsides with the right-hand end again. For clarity they call the 0°~180° part as the "upper side" and the 180°~360° as the "lower/bottom side".
