    In my previous post I forgot to mention the obvious - the set of stars have been chosen to give a wide range of star to star distances between '16,5' and '81,'

    So the set of stars has a carefully chosen set of SHA and Dec so there is always one near vertical calibration value available every night. Neat.

    The data set may well be out of date with respect to values of SHA and Dec.
