Hi, Sean.
Your query reminded me that I have let this project languish. However, I have now finished my engineering drawings, and have decided to make the first manufacturing effort using metal. I have identified a machine shop locally that has a CNC machine (computer numerical control) and may be able to do the job.
My next step is to get over there with my drawings in hand, with copies of the drawings on a USB flash drive, and discuss the project with them. If they think it is feasible from their point of view, I will let them take a crack at it. I will let them tell me what sort of metal would be most suitable.
Keep me posted on your progress, and I will do the same for you on my end. One way or the other, maybe we can come up with something that is usable.
I'd love to have a look at your Illustrator files. Thanks!
