Stellarium Program as practice tool

I would like to use Stellarium to practice (generate practice sextant observations I can reduce) and check my actual sextant readings. I have set the location and altitude in Stellarium to match the place I take practice observations from. Should the Altitude, noted as "apparent" in the Stellarium data for each object agree precisely with my sextant reading (Hs)?. Then I would apply the main and dip corrections to get Ho and continue from there or is there more to take into account when using Stellarium for this purpose?
