    Jim,

I probably don't have the same inputs that you used but here is where I come out using your six sights. I have assumed Sun-Moon NEAR.

Where I'm guessing is eye height and pressure. BTW, nice cut angle, about as close to 90° as you can wish for.

The six sight average time and LD observed are 17:55:11 GMT  and LDobserved 84°54.05'  using IC=-2.0' (which is a lot)

    SD Sun 16.27'  Moon 16.28'

    Using Frank's calculator LDcalc 85°07.2'  LDtrue 85°06.7'

    Err 0.5'  COS -0.00986

    Interpolating for time

    GMT            LD

    17:00:00     84°41.8'

    17:55:11     85°07.2'    1:16 fast  <-----

    18:00:00     85°08.8'

    19:00:00     85°35.9'

Lots of assumptions. How did your time calculation come out?

    Ed
