    Frank, I do not agree that semidiameters will be less important when calculating times of first and last contact. Anyway, my times for those events are
    15:36:07 and 18:51:10 respectively.

    Your second question, "how close is good enough?": Shooting 30 seconds of time too late gives an error of only 0.5". To get an error of less than 0.1' you may be up to 1.6m late; less than 0.5' you may be up to 3.5m late.
