    The events had occurred 30 or more years prior and I do not knew if the interviewee was a pilot, radio operator, navigator or gunner. Maybe we can allow him some exageration? The important point is the reference to a marine sextant - that is what drew my attention to it. David you have confirmed that marine sextants were probably used on Sunderlands.

    The Sunderlands observed radio silence hence my comment about not being able to transmit. I should have written not allowed to transmit.

    Linear TV being what it is the program will probably be repeated. I will try and record it so that I can quote the exact words.
