I was at work recently, on a break, staring at the night sky. A co-worker asked, "What are you looking at?" I replied, "Venus. And there is Jupiter and over there is Saturn." He exclaimed, "Wow! Those are planets? Can you see planets all the time?"
I find it kind of sad how much people in general have lost touch with the amazing beauty and wonder of the heavens. To see the planets all lined up on the ecliptic and Polaris above the pole gives me a sense of 'feeling' where I am, both on the Earth and in the solar system. It's an awe inspiring feeling that I wish more people would take the time to stop and enjoy.
