First of all, I give you credit for doing a longhand solution to this problem. I would have jumped on the computer with a coordinate geometry program and traversed from the PC to point A, then do a line/curve intersection to get point B. Now comes the rub, the problem asks for the distance from the PC to B. That could mean the chord distance, but you solved for the arc distance. Depending on the reason for the need for the distance from PC to B, would determine whether I would give the arc or the chord. If writing a property description, I would give the arc distance. If laying out a curve in the field , I would give the chord distance.
