Just to see if AI could help, I gave Bing the link of the Neuschafer sextant picture asking what model sextant it might be. It replied, quite definitively:
"The sextant in the image you provided appears to be a Neuschafer brand sextant, which is a German-made instrument known for its high quality and precision. The Neuschafer sextant has a distinctive design with a black handle and a silver frame. It is a popular choice among professional navigators and sailors."
I can't find any reference to a German Neuschafer sextant so I guess AI would rather make something up than say "I don't know."
I asked Bing "Is there a Neuschafer brand sextant?" - I am sorry, but I could not find any information about a Neuschafer brand sextant.
That said, I'm just as curious as Rafael what this sextant that might be.
