Now THIS really IS a remote lighthouse. Called the Þrídrangaviti Lighthouse, it is 4.5 miles off the coast of Iceland. Built in a pre-helicopter era, with construction beginning in 1938, workers had to scale the cliffs to bring up the building materials.

P.S. the letter Þ is called a "thorn" and has a Th sound. So the Norse god Þόr is pronounced "Thor".
