i highly recommend TIME LORD, by Clark Blaise which is the biography Sandford Fleming who was one of key driver of establishing the 24 hour clock and resolving riddle of how to unite a world with a thousand local times with his solution of Standart time. It is also a fancinating read on how time as we know it evolved as the key to economic development in the begining of the Industrial Revolution and the move away from the natural world.
