Why is it necessary to qualify the statement with … (West) of the sub-Sun point?
This is because only in the range of 0°~180° of GHA coincides with the conventional latitude values. Further on (180°~360°) GHA enters the eastern latitudes which are counted in the opposite direction. There the latitude of sub-Sun point is 360°-GHA.
