The book you want is the K & E slide rule instruction manual. I have a hard copy but there is an online version. It has a section on the log log scales. These are easy to use, it is the formuals that use them that are difficult. There is also a section on spherical trigonometry, which is what is required for Great Circle Navigation and Celestial.
