Down here at 41S we do not have tropical storms. However quite regularly the met office issues warnings about a force 10 gale. Less often is a force 11 warning. Recently we had a force 12 storm which according to Beaufort is a hurricane. Also according to Beaufort force 10 is rarely encountered on land. He got that wrong! Where I live there is rarely any, damage with a force 11 storm. Elsewhere in the region there may be a few trees down and some flooding due to blocked drains.
I note that neither of the boats aground is displaying the pratique signal TU. In the present pandemic I hope that you took all necessary precautons?
PS The met offfice does not use the Beaufort scale - it is me trying to be clever!
