There's an auction on ebay for an odd measuring or calculating device from about 1800, made by Troughton. It's rather small, roughly 15 cm (six inches) long. The scales are puzzling. What is it? What does it do? :)
The images here are a sample from the ebay auction. There are a few more images at the ebay listing.
